We are always looking for means to use our deer meat. We never grill burgers every bit they are always a little dry. Well, this recipe was awesome! My husband and kids loved these burgers! So moist and delicious. We will definitely have these again and again!!

This is the first year we take had venison, and I must admit I was nervous virtually preparing it! This recipe was good! A fleck dry but that might be because I like my burgers rare, and nosotros decided to be safe and cook it well. I took the extra and formed meatballs which i broiled for 30 mins on 350. They came out better than the burgers!
08/12/2007
Amazing. Didn't change a thing and these are the tastiest burgers ever and soooooooooo juicy. My whole family loved them, even my picky kids. I would requite them 10 stars if I could.

This was my first time always cooking whatsoever kind of Venison. After reading the reviews I thought I would give this recipe a endeavour. I was then impressed with the taste, season, ingredience used, texture, etc. This is a winner and I will prepare this over and over once again. I followed the recipe and didn't change anything.

These burgers have slap-up flavour. The only thing I substituted was a footling onion pulverization for the shallots because I didn't have any on hand. Information technology's also common cold to cook exterior so I cooked these in a cast iron skillet - four min per side, then finished them in a 425 degree oven for another iv minutes to make sure the centers were done. It was a great repast with sweet spud fries and baked beans. Thank you!
04/22/2008
This recipe was great, a dainty alter from the "in the oven" venison burgers. I used i onion instead of two shallots, and I did the bacon in the microwave. The burgers however turned out very moist, and my hubby liked them likewise! The bacon added a great smokey season, too as the charcoal grill. I would definately practice this again!
12/02/2008
Wonderful!! I cut recipe in one-half and still got half dozen burgers out of information technology (well, 5 i/2). Also, I broiled the bun with cheddar cheese and bleu cheese crumbles until melted- great improver! Whole family unit loved these burgers. Thanks!

Delicious!! I merely recently discovered venison and admittedly beloved it. I had 12 oz of ground venison then I used 3 slices nitrate-costless salary, carmine onion and fresh garlic instead of the shallots. I added a flake of butter to the pan after I cooked the bacon and sweated the onion and garlic. I used half a browbeaten egg and some panko bread crumbs too because my meat seemed a bit sticky. I also added some dried thyme based on another recipe I read on this site. The pan looked as well good with all the brown bits and salary grease/butter so I added a bit of olive oil and seared the burgers that mode. Just have to keep a shut eye on the heat because they cook apace..about 4 mins on each side was maximum to nevertheless get three juicy burgers. Added some sliced provolone on peak..a dainty mild cheese to counter the compact flavors was perfect. Loved the smokiness of the bacon, the freshness of the parsley and the beautifully dissimilar flavor of venison. Ive seen then many recipes with reviews that state all the tricks they used to mask the flavor of the venison. If y'all have to mask it..you lot probably just don't enjoy eating it lol. This recipe was great..thanks and then much for sharing it!
12/12/2007
Delicious! The best deer-burgers my husband and I take ever had. The burgers took awhile to brand, but the salary, bacon grease, and olive oil were such great alternatives to the fat we usually put in our venison burgers. MMMMM.

I thought this was a great idea!! I practically minced the bacon and fried it with some finely chopped onion. I didn't mix in the fat, I simply scooped out the bacon/onion mixture, allow it cool and then mixed it in with the venison. I also added parsley flakes, minced garlic and ground pepper!! Really bully!!
01/22/2013
Awesome!!! My family (especially my wife) has gone from dreading me cooking with venison, to request if we can harvest more than venison next year. The style I prepare the meat ensures there is admittedly NO gamey gustation. I thaw the burger completely at room temp and so allow it to soak in common cold water for at to the lowest degree an hour to allow the blood to drain from the meat. The night color leaves and it looks alot like hamburger. I have too prepared the burger with just the salary, salary grease, cooked onion, and garlic, and used it in my meatloaf recipe. Too great! We at present try to stock our freezer with vension during the season.
01/26/2011

03/26/2012
Sensational! I fried up a whole pound of low-sodium bacon, chopped it upwardly fine, and added most of the bacon grease to the burger mixture. (I had a bit more than 2 lbs of venison, and didn't recall the extra bacon flavour would hurt!) I hand-formed them into beautifully thick burgers, and they grilled up perfectly--so incredibly juicy! The only thing I actually left out was the salt--I figured the bacon would accept that expanse covered well plenty. Outstanding recipe! Thanks for sharing!
11/20/2011

My married man is an avid hunter and so we e'er take plenty of venison year-round. These are a overnice change from the venison burgers I ordinarily make. The salary adds a peachy flavor and provides the needed wet to the meat. (Venison tin be on the dry side if not prepared correctly.) I did non add cheese, but it is something I think I might attempt adjacent time around; just mix shredded cheddar in with the meat mixture before grilling. I also think this recipe could be converted into a meatloaf with fabled results. I may play around with that idea every bit well.
07/04/2009

This was my first ever attempt at venison and I was very happy with the result. Out of necessity, I made some adjustments to the recipe. I had to add about a pound of ground beefiness (80/20) to the pound of venison I was given. I soaked the venison in milk for several hours, just wanting to brand sure these wouldn't be too gamey and impact. Instead they were moist and delicious.

Crawly!! 1 of our new family favorites! My hubby is a hunter, and nosotros e'er use basis venison in recipes that calls for hamburger. Although we never used venison to brand hamburgers (besides dry) -- until now!! I am a picky eater and even I LOVE this recipe -- so tasty. 09/10/2012
Simply made this recipe and LOVED information technology - BEST burgers ever. I used most 3lbs of venison so cooked an entire pound of bacon and used about ix - 10 slices and increased all ingredients - especially the garlic. Nosotros've cooked venison burgers before and they always fall autonomously on the grill and so nosotros decided to try cooking them on a cookie sheet (on the grill) until almost done then moved them to the open flame.
